Discover HOW FRE IS MADE

Creating our alcohol-removed wine isn’t much different from making traditional wine at first. We select grapes from premier California vineyards, choosing sites that best express each varietal’s character. After harvest, our winemakers craft each wine using traditional methods to achieve rich flavor, alluring texture, and balance.

Then comes the key step. We use state-of-the-art spinning cone and vacuum distillation technology to gently remove the alcohol while preserving the wine’s delicate aromas and flavors. From vineyard to glass, FRE is transformed into a robust, flavorful wine, minus the alcohol.

The Spinning Cone How It Works

Step 1

Once crafted, the wine is fed into the top of the spinning cone column.

Step 2

Rotating cones use centrifugal force to transform the wine into a thin film.

Step 3

Nitrogen gas is fed into the bottom of the column to extract delicate aromas and flavors, protecting the wine from oxidation.

Step 4

The remaining liquid is passed through the column again, this time at a higher temperature to remove the alcohol.

Step 5

The flavor and aroma essences are recombined with the dealcoholized wine and blended with unfermented varietal grape juice to replace lost volume, creating a delicious beverage with less than 0.5% alcohol by volume.
